Alexander disease

Alexander disease is a leukodystrophy that impacts people of all ages,3-6 with symptoms that vary significantly depending on age of onset.1,7-9

Diagnosis is challenging because of the nonspecific nature and heterogeneity of symptoms, which can lead to misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis.7,10,11 However, with raised awareness, the clinical constellation of symptoms and MRI features of Alexander disease can be recognized.
