Alexander disease

Alexander disease is a leukodystrophy that impacts people of all ages,^3-6 with symptoms that vary significantly depending on age of onset.^1,7-9

Diagnosis is challenging because of the nonspecific nature and heterogeneity of symptoms, which can lead to misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis.^7,10,11 However, with raised awareness, the clinical constellation of symptoms and MRI features of Alexander disease can be recognized.
